Sorry for being so late
Charles Eames would have turned a 100 years on June 17th
He married Ray Kaiser somewhere in 1941, and from then on they would put their stamp on the design and architecture community as Charles and Ray Eames.
because of this anniversary, Vitra has published the book “The Furniture of Charles and Ray Eames”
a rich illustrated book describing their famous designs, used materials, inispiration and how they were created.
I can’t seem to find in yet.. but I would really like to have this one..
next to the book, Vitra has also started production of the Plywood Elephant limited edition.
A Charles and Ray Eames design from 1945, only two prototypes where produced, both of them are now in the Museum Of Modern Art.

Ha great!
Kim Vallee from At Home With Kim Vallee tagged me, thank You Kim!
Rules of the game:
Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to then report this on their own blog with their 7 things as well as these rules. They then need to tag 7 others and list their names on their blog. They are also asked to leave a comment for each of the tagged, letting them know they have been tagged and to read the blog.
OK, here goes:
#1: I love Snooker and Billiards, in fact, I’m building the Garden house primarily to have a pool table in it.
#2: The two most important things in my life are my Girlfriend and my 2 year old daughter
#3: I love cooking, the dishes I make are (most of the time) very good, but the kitchen is always a mess of biblical proportions.
#4: My profession is all about IT, which is also one of my hobby’s.
#5: I love Star Trek and Stargate.
#6: I’m always tempted to buy the latest and greatest technological gadgets, but I can still manage not to do so..
#7: At the moment I’m seriously considering writing a book based on the warhammer universe.
and I tag:
ModernSelf for being a trigger to start my own blog
ikeahacker for being the first blog I ever started reading
Design Milk for the many updates
Home Rejuvenation for just being great
decor8 for the same reason
bijoukaleidoscope for the stories about her little kid, very familiar
apartment therapy for their great interiors

hearing the word Baobab makes me think about this:
Philippe Starck had something else in mind…
the Baobab desk, designed for vitra.
it should look great in a space age office, or even at home.
It features a great and unique cable management solution (at least, that is how I see it in the image below)
just throw all cables in the space that is neatly covered with the top.
You might even be able to squeeze a wireless device in there.
I don’t think i’d buy it, but this is a well thought of design that should look great in several (rather modern) interiors.
www.vitra.com (i can’t seem to find it being featured there anymore?)

Drink it cool, burn your brand
We all know it, there is nothing better than enjoiying a cool drink on a nice terrace in the sun. The only downside is that your cool drink doesn’t stay cool for that long..
so people start messing around with the menu cards to provide shade for the perfectly shaked cocktail or the nice glass of white wine. In my case it will probably be a Duvel
looks like a solution might be on the way, and it seems to be a perefct means to give your brand more exposure, the Coolwing ©:
this nifty item povides the much needed shade on the table, and at the same time it is a great medium for branding.
large companies can order these to put on the tables of the bars, bars can buy these as an alternate way of displaying their menu cards. individuals can buy them for their private parties.
Everyone can use custom printed messages on it, and be sure that they get noticed..
the base can remain, the plastic sheet is interchangeable.
the people behind this product have bigger plans.. why not try to keep the person cool as well?
a life size coolwing, big enough to provide shade for a bar table, and more exposure to your brand, the Coolwing Maxi:

This would have been a wicked fathersday present
but the drawing my little daughter made was also very cool, the look on her face when she gave it to me was priceless.
anyway, I was talking about a Barbecue…
Fuego Living makes two versions, small and big, I would, not being greedy or anything, settle for the small one
.
It can burn charcoal, gas, and even infrared, i would prefer charcoal.
you should really go check out the site, there are hidden features in this system that are really well thought of..

Kim Vallee has been in my favourites for a long time, but I forgot to add this blog to my places of interest..
I was wandering around Kim’s blog, and found out about babygadget. Being a father of a 2 year old and soon a little brother or sister for her, this blog will definatly be of much use for me..
a lot of inspiration for decorating childrens rooms and finding good looking childrens furniture..
